Hans Herr Elementry School Playground

Hans Herr Elementary wanted a playground system to accommodate a large student body. Feedback from students on the previous playground, consisting mostly of decks to stand on, indicated that it was too boring. The school wanted to use a deck-less system to encourage more interaction. They also requested a zip line, several spinning elements, such as an inclusive merry-go-round, a Spin Max tower, and a disc swing to accommodate up to 4 students at a time. The playground was finished with poured in place rubber, which is a 2-layer EPDM playground surfacing system covering over 8000 square feet.
The new playground has become so popular that the principal has to closely manage students to the point where lines are sometimes created for certain play items. The playground is no longer muddy because of the improved safety surfacing. This playground also gets a lot of use after school hours and has become a destination for the community.
